Admission of Self Financing Malaysian Students to Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Engineering courses in India for the academic year 2012-13


The Government of India has invited applications from Malaysian students interested to study courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Engineering in government academic institutions in India for the academic year 2012-13 under the Self-Financing Scheme (SFS).

Malaysia National Sikhs Movement (GERAKSIKH) encourages Sikh Students who have attained the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the said Study Courses in India under the Self Financing Scheme (SFS).

Eligibility criteria:
1) MBBS / BDS / B. Pharmacy / Diploma in Pharmacy courses:
A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% of aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) and 50% in English in the qualifying examination (equivalent to standard 10 + 2 of CBSE in India).

2) B.E. course:
A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% in English in the qualifying examination (equivalent to standard 10 + 2 of CBSE in India).

3) Diploma in Engineering course:
A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the first attempt and 50% in English in the 10th as well as in 12th Grade examination. Age limit should be below 21 years as on 01 August 2012.

Note: Some Directorates of Technical Education require that the minimum aggregate marks should be obtained in the first attempt.

The Indian Government would facilitate the admission of the self-financing Malaysian students to these limited numbers of reserved seats. The students are required to bear all expenses on education and airfare and must undertake to return to Malaysia after the completion of their studies.

The application forms can also be downloaded from www.indianhighcommission.com.my

The applications should be enclosed with copies of certificates and mark-sheets of the final qualifying examination (STPM / A Levels / SAM / CPU / 12th standard), copy of the applicant’s passport, birth certificate, character / conduct certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.

Four identical sets of the duly filled-in application forms should be submitted either in-person or sent by post to the address given below, latest by 31 March 2012:

Students can apply for nomination pending final declaration of their qualifying examination, but these candidates would have to furnish their final results to this Mission by the first week of May 2012.

Submission of application is not an assurance to their nomination. All applications meeting the eligibility criteria will be scrutinised in a 6-month selection process, the results of which will be known only towards the end of September 2012.
